Welcome to Academic Writing!

Welcome to ENG 114: Academic Writing. This class will be organized through an online blog.  Each of you will create your own blog in the first weeks of class, and you will publish your formal and informal writing through this online portfolio. All of the course schedules, readings, videos, and documents will be available through this class blog as well. You DO NOT need to buy a book for this course.  Please bookmark my blog on your laptop or your home computer for easy access. You should check this blog daily for updates and assignments.

To begin, please review the Course Syllabus. Read it over carefully. I will discuss each of the requirements in the first week as well. In addition, please review your schedule for the next two weeks. Your course schedule is distributed in 4 week cycles. You receive a new schedule at the beginning of a new cycle. Here is the schedule for our first paper cycle:

Take some time to learn about Blogger, to set up your account, and to personalize your space. We will be spending a great deal of time here throughout the semester. If you want to get started early on creating your blog, follow these instructions:  How to Create your Blog.

I look forward to engaging in the course with you and mentoring you through the process of becoming better writers!
